Kodak delays -again- the launch of Ektachrome
After announcing originally that Ektachrome, the legendary slide film that disappeared in 2012 from the stores, was going to return at the end of 2017 and suffer a first delay that placed its sale to the public in the first quarter of 2018, it seems that it will not be possible either.
According to a tweet that Kodak has answered to Finegrain, it seems that the launch will occur sometime in the first half of 2018. That is, from here to June -included-.
We're working on it! Development activity is now focused on narrow coating work to optimize curve shape. Given the progress to-date, we are optimistic that the new film will be available sometime in the first half of 2018.— Kodak Professional (@KodakProFilmBiz) 16 de febrero de 2018
This is not good news, since it would not be the first time that a product announced and confirmed by Kodak is in a "limbo" that causes its release never occurs, as happened with the Super 8 Camera announced that imminent release Today, three years later, it has not yet occurred.
We will stay tunned to any news!
